Rendity Review: Peer to Peer Lending

    RENTAL PROPERTIES
As is to be expected, rental property deals at Rendity are long-term investments. That is to say, the money is tied up in the property until a sale is realized. The good news is that you do have the opportunity to exit your investment after 24 months and when you do so, there is no exit fee.

    DEVELOPMENT LOANS
In the case of development loans, things are a bit more straight forward. That is to say, you will receive your principal investment back at the end of the term. As noted earlier, deals average anywhere between 18 and 30 months – so you must be comfortable having the funds locked up for the entire period.

    NO SECONDARY MARKET
Crucially, there is no secondary marketplace available at Rendity. Once again, this means that you need to view your investment on a medium-to-long-term basis, as you won’t be able to liquidate your funds early.

The Rendity robo-invest tool can assist you in developing an investment strategy if you are unsure of how to invest on the platform. You can get suggestions on which products to utilize on Rendity by providing some information about your current situation and your investment ambitions. At the time of writing, the outcome will either be Rendity Income or Rendity Growth.

Rendity is unfortunately not officially regulated by a financial market regulator, which otherwise makes it easy to assess its safety. For this, the platform has successfully financed loans in a sufficiently large volume, which speaks for a safe and legal business model. And although Rendity is not regulated by any financial market authority, it is at least registered as a commercial investment advisor with the Austrian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

There is no secondary market offered on Rendity. This can sometimes be problematic.

Rendity is among the very few platforms to offer exposure to Austrian and German real estate for small investors. They are very transparent and allow investors to check and download important documents. The platform is only available in the European Union. Rendity is only recommended if you are specifically looking for exposure to Austrian and German real estate.
